Goodbye February....hello March. It's dry season all round including holidays. No more public holidays till May! The weather has been horrible, hot, humid and muggy. Need to shower 3 times a day. Not so good when pregnant coz I'm sure it's drying up my skin. Slather lots of cocobutter but that makes me feel sticky all over. Ah...well...I guess it's a no win situation...
Since coming back from Penang, have visited 3 temples over the New Year. Thean Hou, Vihara and a small temple in PJ. It's really getting commercial, especially Thean Hou, whereby 3 deiteies were brought in specially for CNY and people had to pay min donation from RM5-RM10 to pray to them accoring to 'hierarchy'!!! It's really a business... I think I have fullfiled my quota for the year...
Not much to look forward to in the next few months except a possible trip to Cameron Highlands for 2 nights with hubby and inlaws. Main reason is to enjoy the cool fresh air and to buy strawberries and veggies. The corn there is superb...love it...will stock up lots.... Hopefully we can go by end of March as there will be a baby fair during the second week at Midvalley. Hope to get more bargains, especially cloth nappies.
So far the best bargains are at warehouse sales. It's amazing how cheap it gets...from 50%-80% less. Saved heaps on fisher-price toys and accessories. From now on I resolve to watch out for more warehouse sales. It's practical to buy cheap clothing for baby since they grow so fast. My budget RM10 an outfit and maybe RM20 for one or two pieces of nicer ones to go out in! Likely people will be giving clothing as presents anyway.
My next check up is this coming Saturday. So far I have put on around 6kgs to date which is about right. Hopefully at the end of it I wont put on beyond 10kgs. Most importantly is that baby is physically, mentally and spiritually healthy...

Chinese New Year
CNY has passed in a flash. Went to Penang for the first 2 days. Thank goodness we flew as the traffic back (according to my in-laws) was horrible, no parking at the toilets. Took them 2 hours to go from Penang to Ipoh and another 4 hours from Ipoh back to KL. Next year we will not be celebrating CNY in Penang as it would be too difficult traveling with a 6 month old baby. I'm happy cause it has been 3 years since I got to stay in KL for the first 2 days of new year.
I still have a cough and a bit of runny nose. Guess all the new year goodies doesn't help. In Penang all I did was eat and eat some more. Surprisingly Gurney Drive was open and I got to eat a giant serving of "persembur" (indian rojak) that cost a whopping RM18. Also had a taste of asam laksa and 'muachi' (glutinous dessert with peanut sprinkles). After this I will try not to eat anymore hawker food as my sis said that it may be unhygenic and cause problems for baby and me. Resolution: eat more home cook food and no left overs!
Hubby is back at work but more relaxed as his project has been halted indefinitely. Now he will have more time to concentrate on his own business and hopefully spend more time with me, especially when baby is born.
Will be entering my 3rd trimester in March. Hopefully by June I can confirm where I will be doing my confinement month as my sis-inlaw is giving me problems with the room (eventhough she doesn't stay there anymore). Luckily all my siblings are backing me up (except my bro, who incidentally has no mind of his own anymore).
Plan to wash all the baby stuff in the next 2 months before I get too lethargic again. Yesterda we had a clenasing ritual at the yoga center. Was drained and exhausted after that. My sis said it was probably due to the healing effect of the smoke from burning herbs.
I can feel the baby move a lot more now, especially when I lie flat on my back or on my right. He seems to prefer that I lie on my left. I think sometimes his position also affects the number of trips I need to make to the toilet. I can feel a pressure on my bladder and dread what it will be like in the next 3 months. Will I be running to the toilet every 5 mins?! I hope not...

More than halfway there!
I am now officially halfway through my pregnancy! Was down with cough and cold for 5 days. Spent the past few days in bed, not daring to take any medication. However, I did sneak 2 small tsp of Woods Peppermint Cough Syrup. Was only a temporary relief. Now am just sticking to ginger, honey and plenty of rest.
Am still throwing up now and then. Looks like nausea will be staying throughout the pregnancy, just hope that it isn't too severe. Chinese New Year is just round the corner and will be heading to Penang next weekend for 2 days. Managed to get really good deal with Fireflyz and am glad that I won't be stuck in traffic for 5 hours getting there.
My blood sugar was a bit high during my last check up so I better stay off all those yummy new year cookies and goodies. Will set myself a quota.
We are currently on a new dinner arrangement, alternate days (Mon, Wed & Fri) at in-laws and other days with my aunt. Have been eating well and steadily gaining weight. To date I have gained about 5 kgs which is about right.
Have also been keeping busy with lots of baby shopping. Most things bought already, only left cot mobile, baby intercom and high chair (for much later). There has been lots of warehouse sales all over PJ and managed to get pretty good bargains and savings. Soon I can just kick back relax and organise all the baby stuff. Gee...it's nice not working, wonder if I will ever get back into the swing of things??
Back starting to feel tired and sore from weight gain. Need to strengthen all those bones and muscles. My eyesight (esp my right eye) astigmatism has deteriorated slightly. Pray everything back to normal after baby...
