Dating History

Dating Days
Why not start at the very beginning before everything becomes a blur with impending motherhood (currently 5 months pregnant with my first child)? I write this so that my kid(s) will know a little about before and after their father and I met...Let's say I only had one serious boyfriend before meeting hubby. I only started dating at 19 when I was in Uni in Oz. Let's call him Mr.C...he was funny but not husband material, plus rather desperate. Had many romantic tricks up his sleeve but only after one thing....After going out for a month we decided to call it quits, he was both a womaniser and a gambler.

Then came Mr.J (who incidentally was Mr.C's friend) who apparently had the 'hots' for me since day 1 when he first met me) Mr. J was of an entirelt different race. He had smelly feet and was a year younger than I (sorry don't believe in dating younger guys) and was incredibly immature (he thought it hilarious to pretend that I was a chair and sit on me) haha (Not). Let's just say we never made it to the dating grounds.

Returned from Oz, back to M'sia and was 'smitten' (or at least that's what I thought) with my brother's friend Mr.D. Mr.D was of mix parentage and rather cute (at least that's what I thought at that time). We went out twice (on our own) and discovered that both of us were not compatible. Tip: Never date your bro's friend especially one who hangs out with a common group of friends that you both know, cause when it doesn't work out, friends seem to think that they are obligated to take sides.

Turns out Mr.D was all about himself (never met anyone as self centered as him) throughout our 'date' all he did was talk about himself and all his achievements, boast, boast , brag (Yawn) We had a big falling out during a planning of my birthday party and that was that...the rest is history...

After that no dating for a good six years or so. Was happily living in singledom, just hanging out with my sisters. Till they all found their individual interests (that did not appeal to me) and I found myself staring at the idiot box day in and day out. That's when I discovered match.com (thanks to my bro, who by the way found his wife via this very useful website). I must have met at least a dozen guys before meeting my future hubby. Funny thing is it happened so fast, we didn't even chat online (that was the usual drill with guys that I met online) and only exchanged 6 letters before meeting for the first time. I remember being a little late and nervous (what if he turned out to be a real ugly dude??!!).

We met on 3rd Oct 2004 at Kinokuniya bookshop in KLCC. My first impression was that he seemed like a nice guy and I would like to know him better (nope there weren't any fireworks) I guess when you are 29 going 30, that's not so important anymore. We went on a couple more regular weekend dates and after a year we decided to get married. It just came naturally, there wasn't any romantic proposal or anything but we just decided like it was the next practical step. It seemed like we knew each other for longer than a year and we were extremely comfortable with each other's company. We got registered at the 'Thean Hou' Temple on 18th Feb 2006 and had a lavish ceremony on 23rd Dec 2006.
